Trial form may pay to follow at Gosford today

Gigolo resumes from a spell for Chris Waller in race one at Gosford today. The son of Bernardini returns to the races after a single run preparation in which he finished sixth behind Holler. He had excuses that day with the post race vet examination revealing, poor post-race recovery, laceration off-hind cannon, abrasion to near-hind fetlock and pastern.

He has since been gelded and has run two eye catching trials and is currently a $3.30 on Fixed Odds markets in the Sky Racing 2yo Maiden Plate.

Race three appears to be a race in two with the Hawkes trained 3yo Emaratee, purchased for $4million, up against the Gerald Ryan trained 2yo favourite Spill The Beans.

Both horses trialled impressively in the lead up to this and will be sure to offer punters a spectacle. There isn’t as much confidence as you would like from the Hawkes camp and it may pay to take the $2.40 on offer for Spill The Beans now.

Race five sees Trois Choux resuming in the XXXX Gold Class 2 Handicap. She trialled well behind two subsequent winners Momma’s Snitzel and Silent Rush, while finishing sixth in that trial was last start Warwick Farm winner Alegria. The daughter of Choisir will be ridden by James Macdonald and will be very hard to beat. Trois Choux is currently $3.50 Fixed Odds.
