We once received an email from a punter asking why on earth would we publish selections from Race Callers. "They're only flipping a coin to pick those tips" he told us.
We knew this wasn't the case. We regularly speak with Sky Media personnel and they have confirmed that their callers typically have a love for the sport in the first place and there aren't many racing enthusiasts who don't love the punt.
There's actually a strong case that suggests that Race Callers are actually likely to be better on the punt than the average punter. Think about it for a second...
- Race Callers are constantly getting exposed to the runners in the regions where they call which develops an understanding of their racing patterns, strengths and weaknesses.
- They are regularly at the track talking to trainers, owners and other racing personnel.
- They would have an intimate knowledge of the tracks which they call at with all their peculiarities and the impact that they have on racing at the track.
So it's was no surprise when one of SKY Racing's Queensland Race Callers Russell Leonard took-out the highest Profit On Turnover award from his tips placed in 2015.
Leonard has continued his winning ways in 2016 putting together another bunch of winners this week.
Over the past five years he has submitted over 600 selections, finding 236 winners representing a freakish 39% strike rate. An even stake on each selection leaves him easily in the black with 7.1% profit on turnover.
There's a long list of Race Callers in profit from their best bets including Greg Miles, Craig Sant, Tony Wode and Rick McIntosh, to name just a few.
