Tattersall's Tiara 2017 race preview

22 June 2017 15:46 PM

Doomben was rated a soft 6 on Thursday morning, and with no rain in sight, the track is likely to be upgraded before they jump in Saturday's $500,000 Group 1 Tattersall's Tiara.

The sixteen horse field races over 1350m, starting at the beginning of the back straight in a chute and travelling 450m before entering the first turn. Rails are out 3.5m for the entire circuit, which is three more metres than when they raced here two weeks ago on June 10. The week before that at Doomben (June 3) the rail was out 5 metres. Both were good tracks and the going was noticeably better out wide on both days.

Horse Racing AnalysisKey Runners

#3 In Her Time- odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 3.2, 3.3

Has raced off the track at both her starts this preparation after jumping from wide barriers. Was solid two starts back and found only one better in the Stradbroke. Wide barrier again here but should get the best part of the home straight in the run for home. Top chance.

Betting odds Tatts Tiara 2017

#14 Prompt Response odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 5.5,6, 6.5

Very consistent filly who has missed a place only four times from 14 career starts. Good win at her recent outing in the G2 Dane Ripper and was a close second before that behind Daysee Doom in the G3 Dark Jewel. Expect another honest effort.

#10 Bonnie O'Reilly odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 9.5 unchanged

Stayed in the fight after racing wide in the Dane Ripper. Jumps wide here too. Expect her to be tough again and with better luck in the running can be in the finish.

#15 Eckstein odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 9.5 unchanged

Hard to ignore her recent win. Ran with 5.5kg less than her Scone effort first-up. Before that didn't jump from a wide barrier but still came home solidly. Can't dismiss.

#8 Miss Gunpowder odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 11, 12

Finished close to some useful opposition as a filly. Recent two outings were solid including her last win in the Hinkler where she proved too tough to run down. In this.

#12 Nancy odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 12 unchanged

Has been a hard luck story this preparation. Was very close at the Gold Coast and then didn't find clear air till late in the Hinkler. Rates okay against this lot. In the mix.

#4 Egyptian Symbol odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 13, 14

Has been honest enough this preparation. Finished 2.3 lengths away when first-up in the G1 Sangster then a very good second at Eagle Farm amongst Group 3 company. Was good enough in the Stradbroke with some excuses to improve on that run here. Jumps wide but looks to present some value at current odds.

#2 Danish Twist odds fluctuations 6pm 22/6 - 17,16

Has to be considered a serious contender on her G1 Coolmore form. Didn't get the best run home with 59kg on her back against her male competitors at her recent outing. Can make a case.

Off the others.....

Tycoon Tara was solid in the Dane Ripper with 59kg on her back. Expect here to settle a few off the lead and with even luck she should get a fair crack at them in the straight. Has beaten the likes of Le Romain, Rebel Dane and Dixie Blossoms which rates well against this opposition.

1st Danish Twist- presents great value at current double figure odds and has the class to win. Recent form is good enough.

2nd In Her Time

3rd Tycoon Tara
