VRC Winter Championship Series Final 2015 race review

Flemington was rated a Good (4) at 9.50am this morning. With the weather man predicting rain today and tomorrow in Melbourne, the questions remain - How much rain? And how will it effect the track? I have assumed a Slow (5) for tomorrow's racing but that's just a guess. I recommend reassessing things as the races draw closer.

The VRC Winter Championship Series Final is a Listed event run over the 1600m course and it's the feature race tomorrow.

The last run from Sir Andrew says that he is crying out for the 1600m a distance he has never run over so far in his career. A wet track together with Flemington will suit his racing style and with Craig Williams onboard he will have a great chance in the race.

Mr Utopia is 2/ 2 this distance and 2 wins and a second for four runs at Flemington. He handles any type of going and it's hard to fault his current preparation.

Good Value appears to be exactly what his name sake suggests. Forgiving his last run on a bog track, his two runs prior put him right up with the two favoured runners in the race. Definite winning chance.

Amovatio showed solid form over his last two runs. Rates as a strong chance with the only query being the 60kg on his back, although he seemed okay with a similar weight two starts back at Randwick.

Tried And Tired comes under notice too with recent solid runs over 1400m. Especially like his fourth three runs back beaten 2.3lengths by Mr Utopia giving him 3.5kg. Also encouraged by the chase he gave last started when giving the leader 6.5kg.

Of the others, keep an eye on Tiny's Legacy. She is a real chance and is currently paying $21. Can excuse her last start failure as a back marker on a track that didn't suit. Her two runs before that were good, especially the Flemington run. It rates well. Prefers it a bit soft which I think she will get.

My money's on the top weight Amovatio. I liked his strong win last start and despite the weight rise I think he is on the up and can cover these. Sir Andrew in for second and Tried And Tired third.
