Group racing action takes place at Morphettville and the Gold Coast this weekend with a string of races that include several A-listed thoroughbreds in the mix.

Gold Coast

Gold Coast racecourse was rated a good 4 on Friday morning and is expected to remain that way on race day. Race 7 is the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes racing over the 1800m course.

Group 1 Doncaster winner It's Somewhat is looking for three wins from as many starts this preparation betting odds Gold Coastbeating two quality fields on rain affected tracks. Handles it dry too and has won up to 2000m. Expect him to be competitive again here.

McCreery looked as though he was after further at his recent outing. Has won up to 2000m and has the class to prevail.

Last two runs from Single Gaze put her right in this. First time at weight-for-age (WFA) is a slight query but can't dismiss.

Sense Of Occasion has been solid in each of his runs this preparation and both were quality races.

It was heavy tracks and chasing Winx for Preferment last preparation. With that behind him the multiple Group 1 winner looks to avenge recent form to get his career back on track.

Cylinder Beach looked good last start and is worthy of thought with some query at WFA level and Maurus goes into the mix after looking solid fresh at Randwick three weeks ago.

Of the rest, Col 'N' Lil is as honest as they come and will be giving her best again which gives her a good chance.

Selections:

1st McCreery looks to have the class and form to win this race.

2nd Sense Of Occasion

3rd Col 'N' Lil

Morphettville

Morphettville was a soft 5 on Friday morning and is expected to improve before they jump on Saturday.

Race 6 is the Australasian Oaks, a 2010m contest for three-year-old fillies.

Kenedna looks a strong contender on the back of her G2 Kewney run and recent form winning up to 1800m.betting odds at Morphettville

Egg Tart has worked her way up the grades and distances with four straight wins leading into this race. Has to be considered on those efforts.

Toffee Nose is a genuine improver looking good at her recent outing to win at 2000m. Has the credentials.

Sword Of Light races beyond 1600m for the first time and steps up in grade but racing well enough to give it a good crack.

Savvy Dreams can be forgiven for her recent effort when finishing midfield. Was good before that against quality opposition in New Zealand. Kiwi form has stood up well in the recent times at this age, so respect.

Harlow Gold was solid prior to her ATC Oaks failure where post race issues were reported. She was runner-up in last year's Oaks so no doubting her ability.

Of the others With A Bit Of Dash makes some appeal finishing close to Kenedna in both her recent starts and finishing outside a place only once in her six starts this preparation and Lilymorn looks one for the exotics. Although in maiden class, she gobbled up the extra distance at her recent outing to win by almost 4 lengths on the line.

Selections :

1st Savvy Dreams forgiving her last start effort. Like her Kiwi form and expect her to race well with the draw.

2nd Toffee Nose

3rd Lilymorn

Race 7 is the Robert Sangster Stakes, now named the UBET Classic, its a Group 1 WFA race run over 1200m.

English has been a model of consistency this preparation with the exception of her fail on a heavy track in betting oddsthe Galaxy where the conditions were blamed. She's against her own sex here and should be tough to beat.

Sheidel should go to the front from her wide barrier. Can dictate terms from there if she gets her way.

Super Cash had excuses at her recent outing. Nice win before that in the Rubiton. Freshened-up which should suit.

I Am A Star has been freshened since finishing back in the Doncaster field. Good first-up record and speed-map looks good.

Of the others Egyptian Symbol resumes with an unbeaten record first-up and rates well against these. Good effort from Ravi first-up from a wide barrier to finish second in the G2 Sapphire. Tough gate again but expect her to get a nice cart, and with clear air, can make her presence felt.

1st Egyptian Symbol has the credentials to win and will be firing first-up

2nd English

3rd I Am A Star
